Specialist Wallasey engineer BMB Weatherproof Canopies has been bought by a serial entrepreneur.
Private investor William Ravenna has acquired the business for an undisclosed sum after tabling “the most compelling offer for the business†said mergers and acquisitions advisors BCMS.
BMB makes bespoke cabs for the fork truck industry, and its subsidiary, Hatchbag, makes fitted boot liners for a wide variety of, mainly, luxury cars for owners to carry dogs and pets in the rear.
BCMS was engaged by BMB shareholders to identify a suitable buyer for the business, which was founded 25 years ago by Brian Blanchfield and employs around 35 staff.
Its turnover last year was put at £ 2M, and growing.
BCMS deal leader Ilan Elfassy said: “BMB is an excellent business which has enjoyed strong growth in its chosen markets. With the addition of William Ravenna’s drive and vision the company will undoubtedly go from strength to strengthâ€.
He said his team identified a number of companies that could potentially acquire BMB, including manufacturers, industrial services providers, and private investors.
After “discreet approaches†by the BCMS team, 20 companies expressed a more serious interest in the acquisition and, ultimately, three parties tabled offers.
BCMS said William Ravenna tabled the most compelling offer for the business.
It said: “The company will be added to Mr Ravenna existing portfolio of investments, which has previously included manufacturing operationsâ€.
BCMS has sealed 25 deals in manufacturing and engineering since 2012
